What NYC casting directors expect in Auditions

In my NYC Acting classes you will learn the art of the audition.

Step 1: is be prepared and off book so as to have freedom to express yourself physically and emotionally.
Step 2: is walk into the audition relaxed and friendly toward the director and casting people. Step 3: is / don’t start rambling and making aimless conversation, unless they do. On a professional level, time is important and they don’t have time to waste. A quick hello and be ready to go into the prepared scene or monologue immediately.
Step 4: They may ask you to make an adjustment (to change what you prepared in a different way), so this is where my improvisational skills kick in!
Step 5: The (adjustment) measures if you can be directed, if you can make the changes quickly and precisely and if you’re comfortable in that scenario.
